book 2/1, travelling
chapter 4, South Africa
TRAVELLING
South Africa
The stay in Injaberg is marked by clashes, Alice’s jumble of thoughts on colonialism and racism, an unexpected mediator, and news that divide the travelling team. In the aftermath of an attempted coup within the travelling team some struggle to find their footing again.
On the flight to Sydney, two dreams have an impact. One dream gets Alice talking about the connection between digesting and being alive, the other leads to a movie night and the screening of The Invention of Evil.
‘Are you worried about yourself?’ That was a slip-up. There should be an actual checkpoint for any and every thought, before they are allowed out.
Alice laughed. ‘Worried? Never and all the time.’
